Looking at the three artists involved and the fact it is 2013 made me worried about this track. Rapper
50 Cent has been overrated for the majority of his career with no real tremors in recent years;
Adam Levine turned
Maroon 5 into an annoying pop band with their song
Payphone; and
Eminem's albums have slowly got worse as he does not suit a deep album. So, all three together looked tragic on paper, yet, their new single
My Life is not as bad as I initially thought. The rapping is very (what I like to call) happy rap and although 50 Cent and Eminem don't belong in a pop song, it sort of works. It has a cool edge to it and is universally enjoyable. A decent start to the week in music.
