Spector-Friday Night, Don't Ever Let It End

Spector had a great 2012 and they continue their success of debut album Enjoy It While It Lasts this week with their sixth single Friday Night, Don't Ever Let It End, 20 months after the release of their first single What You Wanted. The boys have really started a fresh sound in indie disco and have not taken the foot off the pedal since and the new single is no exception. The song is one of many moods. As much as you could argue it's an anthem of enjoying the weekend and hoping it lasts forever, it's also a song for the sad with singer Fred McPherson belting out "I thought it was the weekend, but where are all my friends?" and "Oh give it all up the sun has set, you know that boy is wrong for you", showing that it is as much a heartbreak song than it is an anthem. The crooning guitars in the intro and the thunderous sound at the chorus  makes this a sweet single and another bit of fun music from the quintet.

Rating:9/10
