The Justice Collective-He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother

This year we were hit with the terrible news that The Hillsborough Disaster of 1989 could have been prevented by the police who refused to take responsibility for the tragedy, blaming the supporters. However, recently we were given some consolidating news that a charity single would be released at Christmas to raise money for the families of the 96 victims and it would be released by The Justice Collective. The song that is released this week is a cover of The Hollies' hit He Ain't Heavy, He's My Brother. This involves a great star-studded line up including: Sir Paul McCartney, Robbie Williams, Bono, Rebecca Ferguson, Paloma Faith, Eliza Doolittle, Melanie C, Mick Jones, Jon McClure, Gerry Marsden and many others. I was expecting some kind of mini-Band Aid that would irritate me for a few weeks, but this is genuinely a nice song and sung beautifully by all who participated. I would happily see this go to number one not just for the cause, but for the music as well.

Rating: 8/10
