Bastille have appeared on this blog before with their marvelous song Bad Blood which was an absolute work of art. They return with their follow-up single Flaws. Although this is quite a repetitive song and doesn't live up to Bad Blood, it is still a great tune, just like the band's previous singles. The only part of this song that betters the first single is the voice, which is pushed to the limit, especially during the chorus where lead vocalist Dan Smith manages to still stand out over a whizzing keyboard and banging drums as he sings:
You have always worn your flaws upon your sleeve
And I have always buried them deep beneath the ground
Bastille have kept consistent with their new single, although Bad Blood triumphs over it, this is by no means a poor song. It should definitely be listened to.
